MHers One Year in Morocco


To strengthen MH’s presence in Morocco, the company established a local liaison office, positioning team members on-site for closer client interactions. Recently, we spoke with an MH colleague who spent a year on the ground in Morocco. He shared his key focus areas, challenges, and plans for the liaison office’s future.

Main Focus Areas

Over the past year, MHer concentrated on two critical aspects:

  1. Market Maintenance

MHer prioritized face-to-face client meetings for faster communication and to demonstrate MH’s unwavering commitment to quality and service. Despite increasing competition from Chinese firms, MH’s reliability and dedication secured client trust.

  1. Office Localization

Responsibilities were gradually transitioned to the local team, including two senior staff handling existing accounts while new hires pursued new opportunities. MHer noted that sustaining future success will require robust guidance and oversight from MH’s domestic headquarters.

Challenges and Solutions

Building trust across cultural boundaries and alleviating concerns about supply-chain reliability proved to be significant hurdles. MHer overcame these challenges by:

  • Conducting frequent on-site visits to reinforce MH’s commitment;
  • Sharing transparent production and logistics updates, proving dependability;
  • Leveraging local team insights to address urgent client needs swiftly.

This approach earned MH recognition as a trusted, long-term partner in the region.

Future Development Plans

Looking ahead, the liaison office will:

  • Invest in local team training to enhance market expertise;
  • Strengthen collaboration between Moroccan and domestic teams with combined remote and on-site reviews.
