40S/2 Meta-Aramid Flame-Resistant Sewing Thread

MH Meta-Aramid Flame-Resistant Sewing Thread is a 100% meta-aramid (aromatic polyamide) spun sewing thread in 40S/2 count, supplied in natural white.

The thread is spun from meta-aramid staple fibre, a heat-resistant aromatic polyamide in which flame resistance is inherent to the polymer rather than added as a surface finish, so the protective character of the seam does not wash out or wear away over the life of the garment. Meta-aramid has no melting point: rather than melting and shrinking back from a heat source, the fibre chars, which helps a stitched seam hold together at elevated temperature instead of opening up. The 40S/2 two-ply construction is the count MH supplies for lockstitch and overlock seaming on flame-resistant shell fabrics, and the natural white base can be dyed to a customer colour reference.

MH Meta-Aramid Flame-Resistant Sewing Thread is used to assemble FR workwear and coveralls, firefighting and rescue garments, military and industrial protective clothing, and heat-resistant industrial textiles, where the thread has to match the protective behaviour of the fabric it joins. The fibre also carries good abrasion resistance, good resistance to organic solvents, and electrical insulation, so the thread stays serviceable in demanding industrial laundering and workshop conditions. Custom counts and dyed colour matching are handled on OEM and ODM programmes.
