MH 18mm plastic snap button tape is a polyester tape, 18mm wide, with plastic snaps set at an 18x36mm spacing along its length. The close spacing puts more closures into a short run of tape, which is what infant garments need: a bib neck or a romper inseam has little room and still has to open completely.

The tape ships as a matched pair of reels, one carrying the stud halves and one the socket halves, so a sewer cuts both to the same length and the snaps meet in register. Cut ends do not need finishing before the tape is stitched down. The polyester backing and plastic snaps stay soft and washable, with nothing on the tape that can corrode against skin.
