The MH #5 brass fire retardant metal jeans zipper is a closed-end, non-separating metal zipper built with solid brass teeth on high-temperature-resistant Nomex® aramid tape.
MH sets the brass chain onto flame-resistant aramid webbing so the tape and teeth hold their form when exposed to heat and open flame, while the closed-end, semi-auto-lock construction keeps both halves joined at the bottom stop for jeans-style plackets and reinforced pockets.
Because the chain is metal and the tape is aramid rather than a coated coil, the closure carries the pull loads of heavy workwear without the tape charring or shrinking away from the teeth.
The zipper is made for fire-proof suits, flame-retardant protective clothing, automotive interiors, and other fire-safety products.
