MH #5 plastic open-end zipper is a separating resin zipper built on a polyester tape finished with a silver reflective surface. The molded plastic teeth are injected individually onto the tape, and an auto-lock slider holds the position during wear.

The reflective tape reflects light back toward its source in low-light conditions, raising the visibility of the wearer at dusk, at night, or under vehicle headlights. This makes the zipper a functional closure for high-visibility safety wear, cycling and running jackets, children's outerwear, and other outdoor coats, where the open-end design lets the garment separate fully at the front.
