The cast metal core gives the slider its strength, and the plastic cover is molded tightly over it so the two stay bonded without loosening. Because the design is non-lock, the slider glides along the chain freely and reverses direction without catching.
The slider works on backpacks, luggage, and bags, and also replaces a worn or broken slider on #7 chain.
