Hair canvas is a woven fusible interfacing that may be used to modify jackets and coats.

Hair canvas interfacing is used for the chest piece of the suit, the interlayer of shoulder pads.

MH polyester/wool 64/36 horse hair canvas interlining is a woven hair canvas made from a 64% polyester and 36% wool base cloth reinforced with horse hair, supplied 150cm wide at 165 g/m2.

• Wool-rich recovery: The high wool share in this horse hair canvas interlining is what returns the chest piece to its moulded shape after wear and pressing, rather than letting it flatten.

• Dry uncoated finish: The canvas is finished without adhesive, so it can be pad-stitched or sewn into a chest piece in the traditional bespoke construction instead of being fused.

• Light hand for soft tailoring: As the lightest canvas in the MH woven hair range, it supports soft-front suits and overcoats without pushing a hard edge through the shell fabric.

• Woven canvas stability: The woven base cloth holds the canvas square through cutting, moulding and repeated pressing, so panels stay to pattern across a production run.

• Factory-side customization: MH weaves this canvas in its own mill and can re-specify width and weight for a tailoring programme, which keeps repeat orders consistent batch to batch.

It is best for use with medium to heavyweight fabrics and is excellent for use in jackets and coats.
